Contractor websites in Tennessee

Tennessee's state contractor license starts at $25,000, and a separate home improvement license covers smaller remodels in nine adopting counties. Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga each add permit-side requirements of their own. We build around the license you actually hold and show it on every page, then bring calls, Google reviews and booked jobs.

Tennessee at a glance

Tennessee splits the rules between the state and the county

A Tennessee contractor's license is required before bidding or naming a price on a project of $25,000 or more, and electrical, plumbing, HVAC and roofing subcontractors need one when their portion reaches that mark. Residential remodels from $3,000 to $24,999 need the state home improvement license, but only in counties that adopted the law, including Davidson, Hamilton, Knox and Shelby. Memphis wants a state-licensed contractor to register with Shelby County's licensing section before pulling a permit, and Nashville asks for a permit bond and a Davidson County business license or exemption. Your site should say which license you hold and which counties you serve.

Show your license on your website, in every state

Whatever you hold in Tennessee, a state license, a registration or a city license, we put the number in the footer of every page and on your quote page, matching your Google Business Profile. Customers look you up before they call, and a number they can verify wins the job.
